Dzień 6: Duke Ellington - "Ellington At Newport" (1956)

Po euforii wynikającej z wysłuchania poprzednich kilku płyt, przyszła pora na jęki niezadowolenia z mojej strony... Choć ta mieszanka nagrań na żywo i w studio była najlepiej sprzedającą się płytą w karierze Duke'a - ja po prostu czekałem na koniec, gdyż baaardzo mi się dłużyła... Strasznie długie (2-3 minuty) przerywniki między utworami - przedstawianie kolejnych muzyków nie przypadły mi do gustu - wybijały mnie z nastroju... Rozczarowałem się tak naprawdę już po pierwszym utworze - hymn USA na początek wzbudził we mnie niesmak... Kolejny raz podkreślę, że znawcą nie jestem, ale trąbka tak wibrowała mi w uszach, że zwyczajnie nie mogłem tego słuchać... Widocznie na niektóre doznania muzyczne nie jestem jeszcze gotowy i być może nigdy nie będę! I dobrze! Nie musi mi się podobać wszystko, co autor umieścił w książce. O gustach się nie dyskutuje, nieprawdaż? :)
    Najlepszy kawałek: hmmmm...
